History
Valeme comes from a long line of military family members. Brought up as the only child of a general in the Orsholon Royal Guard, she knows (and is well-known by) the royal family. She often was brougnt into the royal compound in Orsholon City as a little girl, and it is rumored she found many hidden passeges while playing there.
She is trusted by the King and she has quickly risen to the ranks of Captain in the Royal Guard. Her father is retired, and she very well may achieve the same rank as he did at a younger age. She is a highly skilled warrior, and those who serve under her respect her. Her team of nearly 60 guards are an elite force entrusted with not only protecting the royal family but investigating matters that threaten the state.

Valeme watched a good friend die in front of her.
When training in the mountains north of Orsholon City, her team was practicing a traverse across a steep crevasse. She and her friend Kisri were making the crossing when a section of the edge gave way. Kisri began to fall, and Valeme dug her gear into the icy surface. But the ground was too loose, and Valeme was being dragged to the edge.
She planted her heels into the ground just before the edge, and could see Kisri dangling. Valeme could not hold for long. She looked into the the crevasse and Kisri told her it was alright, to let go. Valeme refused. Kisri begged her to let her fall before both of them fell to the bottom of the crevasse. Still, Valeme would not let go.
Valeme’s heels were dug in, but the ground was giving way. As Valeme fought to stay atop the crevasse, Kisri said very simply, “Goodbye my friend”, and reached up with their knife and slashed the rope, falling into the deep crevasse. Kisri was gone.
Valeme blamed herself. What she did not find out until later is that Kisri had been given a short time to live due to a a disease ravaging their body. Kisri did not fear death and had no desire for Valeme to go as well.
To this day, Valeme has trouble approaching the crevasses in the Rinzeremel Mountains.
