Dragon's Stein Tavern
Welcome to the Dragon's Stein, the best tavern in Tremer. Ok, we're the only tavern in Tremer. But we're still good!
Come on in and pull up a seat at the bar for some of the finest drinks and grub you'll find on the Orsholon/Lawcrane Road. Or have a seat in front of the fire for a relaxing evening of chat and stories with other travelers.
Have a gander at our drink and food menus. Then just let us know when you are ready to order!
And if you're staying at the Aerie Inn, be sure to ask about getting your meals delivered to you!
NOTE:(Drinks stronger than a mild ale cannot be delivered. Not since the dwarf incident...)
Purpose / Function
Contents & Furnishings
The tavern main room is comfortably appointed with plenty of windows to allow in natural light. It features a fireplace at one end with a small seating area that has a few standard chairs and one very comfy looking armchair. Next to the armchair is table with drinking vessels and papers on it. The bar is generally kept clean, but one may find a small collection of used glasses and steins at one end of the bar, waiting for one of the servers to take them back to the kitchen for cleaning. On one wall is a beautiful tapestry depicting a large silver dragon flying above a snowy mountain range. The kitchen features two prep tables and two hearths used for cooking. Under the tables are basins with water for cleaning, and along the walls are shelves for supplies. Barrels in the corner contain meats and flour as well as other supplies. The owner lives and works in the attached bedroom, and the storeroom is where barrels of ale and other supplies can be found.
Other than the till, there are no real valuables in the tavern. Even the tapestry, when examined, is revealed to be of a lesser quality.
Thick thatched roofing on a building of stone construction. It features a kitchen, office/owner's room, storeroom, a main room and a back room that can be configured as needed. The main room has the Tavern's bar at one end, and a sitting area on the other.
The Dragon and Flagon has been around since before anyone can remember, and probably before that. Since Tremer is along the road from Orsholon City to the port city of Lawcrane , it is a popular stop for a bite to eat and a pint. The current owner, Royston Ranald bought the Tavern from the previous owner in 1193 ATF. He had taken out a loan from some shadier characters from Lawcrane and fell behind on payments. They threatened him with bodily harm. Hargus Hurryhouse was passing through Tremer and stopped in at the Tavern. He had struck a conversation with the owner and found out about the trouble. He asked who the troublemakers were and a few other questions, and then told the owner he wouldn't have to worry again. And the troublemakers never returned. Royston holds Hargus in high regard and will not tolerate those who bother him. As a form of thanks, the owner and the owner of the Aerie Inn have given Hargus room and board whenever he wants in their best accomodations.

Pub / Tavern / Restaurant
At most times, except late in the evening/early morning, there is a fair amount of noise in the tavern. It is busy and usually has 10-12 patrons drinkng and having fun, and perhaps a bard playing music to pay for a night at the Aerie Inn. The scent from the kitchen is inviting, and the food here is of good quality.
