Giants in Asgard

700 0 0

With an evil smirk Loki gave the spear another tap and the enormous Bi-frost gate behind them began to shudder and flash. Within moments hordes of giants poured out and began attacking the now hysteric crowd. Thor let out a vicious war cry as he activated his Valcare armor and burst towards Loki with intent to kill. Loki dodged his first swing but before Thor could swing his mighty hammer again, he was shoulder bashed by a Jotun and found himself surrounded. As for Baldur, Odin’s only legitimate child, he also activated his exosuit, and grabbed both his parents and flew them far up the great tree to safety.

Thor was battling, Odin was running, but the Aesir people were being slaughtered all around. Most of them were completely defenseless, and those that were equipped to fight, were too drunk to act quick enough. The screams of a terrified people and the roars of bloodthirsty giants filled the air. As for Loki, he would have liked to stay and watch, but he knew their surprise element would wear off soon and he began making his way, escorted by giants, to the other gates so that he could allow reinforcements through.

Once safely in his throne room again, Odin began barking orders to stop that insolent traitor at any costs. Baldur remained with his father, but began contacting every Valcare he could, ordering them to defend their people. But, the response was slow. Loki had coordinated the perfect ambush, and he was about to do it again.

By the time Loki reached the gates on the other side if the city, Asgard had initiated emergency procedures and was managing to hold the giant forces back. Many soldiers had fought the Jotun on many occasions and knew exactly how to take them down. It was no unknown fact that the Valcare armor had equaled the Aesir playing field with the Jotun for ages. However, Loki had planned for this. He reached the next gate just as he planned and again tapped his newly acquired spear to activate the gate to Helheim.

Hel watched her side of the gate power up and heaved a heavy sigh. The risk was great, but her and her army were willing to lay down their lives for the future of Helheim. With one last breath to calm her nerves, she ordered her men to charge through. They bolted forward, full of valor, and came out the other side ready to fight.

The giants had pushed most of the Aesir to the southern side of the city, and many thought they would be able to outrun the beasts. Their hopes were crushed, however, when instead of freedom they were greeted by another ambush from the Helhir. Flanked on both sides, the Aesir quickly lost their advantage as they now had two armies at their doorstep. The united armies slowly gained control of more Bi-frost gates and let more of their allies in. Odin continued to watch from afar, now beginning to connect the dots within his mind, of how his past had finally caught up with him.
