Moonlight poured into the room as I looked outside the window. I've always wondered if it was worth coming out here to the City of Hearth to start up a guild. How different life could have been is something that itches in the back of my head when we are out on our quests.

I started out in Renaki University. Studying arcane knowledge has always fascinated me. The only problem with it is not the field of study. The professors may as well had been testing my patience rather than knowledge over magic and its properties. Compared to most students, I picked up quickly on the material but my teachers thought otherwise. They wanted to be sure I had memorized not only material but also the wisdom behind its uses.

Thankfully, when I was reaching the end of my patience, two kindly souls, Remus and Welma, found me. They wanted me to take part of a guild that would be paid for doing whatever tasks were needed done within our kingdom. Initially, I wanted to decline, thinking it was a silly sham. When given thought, however, it meant I would truly be testing my limits and actually using practical purposes of my education. I couldn't forget that it would be a guild hall I'd be joining which meant that others would be part of it. Something scary and unpredictable for once which is contrary to this university life. I signed up rather quickly for this Esterson Hall

Back in this shared room, I turned back to look at my fellow guild members. Emoru, Sen, Bremigan, and Rosanna. When I first met them, they were just like me. Uncertain, untested, and shaky. We named ourselves the Savvy Strays in reference to how we were found lost in our lives. With time, we slowly created our dynamics.

I came to realize Sen and Rosanna were impulsive. Those two always fought with each other and wanted to best the other. If I haven't stepped in to keep their pettiness in check, they may as well have fallen a cliff to see who would land first. Sometimes their rivalry would even catch others in the collateral damage by accident, usually catching dear Emoru if she isn't careful.

That avian... Emoru is a sweetheart in our guild and cannot stomach harsh realities as the rest of Esterson Hall can. When she got upset, which was frequent, I had to be at her side to ensure she didn't stay in a bad mood for too long. Her naivety made it easy for the other members to pick on her, if not belittle her at the worst of times. Of course, I had to be there to ensure she felt safe and be someone who she trusted.

Bremigan, the dwarf of Esterson Hall, at least kept to himself for the most part. The only grievances I have with him would have to be his hygiene and habits. Of course, I had to keep track of his alcohol intake with the help of the others to ensure a hangover doesn't carry over into our task the next day. He was certainly humorous and helped Emoru lighten the tension in our group.

I turned back to the window, peering outside to see the City of Hearth only a mile away. A place far from my home in Haliah. If I stayed in that stuffy university, I would miss meeting these exciting fellows. Despite the burdens some have brought, as is with anyone really, I would run from that school again and again just to be with these four.
