Dear reader,
I'm so sorry that the events of your life resulted in you needing to read this book. I would like you to know that this isn't the whole story. A lot more than this tale took place down there.
Stories of love...betrayal and treachery. Stories that might be told by others. Tales of the Silver Shields... And tales of which I shall never tell.
Promises made...deals struck...and oaths to be kept. Words have power and bonds have meaning.
I am a different man now than when I started my journey.
I hope I've made a difference. I know the Silver Shields have made a difference to me...heroes! Every last one!
So if you find yourself in the Elfsong tavern in Baldur's Gate. Pull up a stool...grab a drink...and tip your waitress.
