The origins of the Fourteen have been debated for centuries. Some believe that they are, as they have always been, ever present. Other scholars date the earliest texts of the gods by a few hundred centuries. However, others would argue that written texts are merely a tool used to record practices and faith, time stamps to further solidify the mythos of the gods. These were initially passed down through oral tradition many more centuries before the stories were put to ink and parchment. Nonetheless, whether the gods emerged from primordial waters, or through the manifestation of faith given shape and image, their influence upon the mortal realm and mortal life is undeniable.

Contained herein are the stories of how the gods came to be, parentage and genealogy. Within these sacred chapters, one may also find stories of the Fourteen: their history with man, and how, through their great work, they have shaped the very world we live in now. Lest we forget, the tales written within these hallow pages ring with truth and carry lessons on how one may model their lives fit for the favor of the Fourteen. Above all else, while faith in the gods give us hope and the strength to weather through the hardships of life, one must not succumb to zealous fervor.

We are the children of the gods, faith and prayer is all the succor they request of us whom they live to serve and nurture. It is a fool's errand to take a god's name in vain in pursuit of their own selfish ideology. Forget not the hallowed days of old, marked by the movement of celestial bodies that herald the need for observation of the great deeds and work of the Fourteen. May the stories contained within these sacred texts serve to teach and remind of traditions long held, their meaning and value, and how they tie us perpetually to the divine. Like the life-giving knot between mother and child, may these stories nourish our souls and nurture our faith.
