Harald
“Life in the asteroid mines of XXXXX,” System-lord said in judgment to one of the soldiers.
Harald stood in the throne room where his father held court. It was rare for his father to deal justice, he often left it for the courts to deal with.
“Bring the next one,” the system-lord growled.
The throne room was as packed as anytime that Harald had ever seen it. His whole family was in attendance. His mother, brother, and sisters, and his fathers wards, Gwen, Winnifred, Joslyn and Jae. Jae hadn’t wished to come, but Nena had convinced her it was important.
The man dragged forward was the last to be given judgment, and the one which had touched Jae.
“Words?” System-lord Peder asked as he stared down the man who fell to his knees.
“We wouldn’t have done anything. Mercy my lord, mercy,” he cried.
“You wouldn’t have done anything?” The system-lord asked and rose to his feet. His arm moved and an image appeared on near the wall as the footage of a drone appeared. A drone that Harald was unaware had been following them. It replayed the events. It happened so quickly.
“A jest lord, a simple jest,” the man cried.
“You dared touch my ward,” the system-lord said coldly. “This is not whatever shit hole you came from. This is Isca. We know what you wanted to do. We know how to treat criminals.” The System-lord looked at the man as though waiting for him to saw something but he just sobbed.
“It is Dumgarth lord, they say we can do whatever we wish in the Dumgarth Sector,” the criminal cried. “I wouldn’t have harmed her. I promise.”
“Life, on the asteroid mines of XXXXX,” the System-lord said giving him the same punishment as his companion. “And for the crime of laying a hand on my ward,” he said sharply, and the man looked up at the lord. “You lose the hand. Hold him.” The System-lord commanded.
Harald watched as two house guards grabbed the hand and held him still, while a third moved his hand, and Harald watched as his father walked forward, and drew his Techno-Blade from his side.
“No!” The criminal shouted, cried and tried to struggle free.
The criminal didn’t see the blade come down. He howled in pain as the Techno-Blade edge cut it’s way through his hand. The hot plasma end burning the flesh so that there was almost no blood, and Harald couldn’t help but to watch the hand fall to the ground.
The criminal cried, and wailed out in pain. “Get this scum out of my sight,” his father said, and turned his back to walk back to his throne.
Harald watched as the officer was dismissed. His father had dressed her down, and but his punishment had been less harsh, and almost soft compared to those she lead.
The last to enter the room was King’s Guard Hilda Grip. He walked to the center of the room, and stopped before the severed hand before she knelt.
“Lord Frost,” she said respectful.
“Lord Grip,” the System-lord replied. “You have no need to stand before this court in such a manner.”
“Nevertheless,” Hilda said. “I stand before you as their commanding officer. I am the one who the fault must fall on. I will accept any punishment you deem necessary.”
“I will not pass judgment on you. I know you condemn such action. IT pains me that such action as this was required.” The system-lord said.
“As it does me,” the King’s Guard said. “I have recalled my forces. Canceled all leave. There will be a investigation. I will find out how these scum came into my service lord, I will never allow this to happen again,” she told him.
